JobKeeper Payment Extended
The JobKeeper Payment has been extended for eligible businesses and not-for-profits until 28 March 2021. Such entities are required to demonstrate a decline in actual GST turnover with a comparable period. JobKeeper payment rates are also changed based on the employees/ eligible business participants working hours.
If you're already receiving JobKeeper payments, you don’t need to do anything differently until 28 September 2020. Continue to pay all eligible employees $ 1,500 per fortnight (before tax) up to and including the fortnight ending 27 September 2020.
From 28 September 2020, you need to nominate the rate you're claiming for each of your eligible employees and/or business participants based on their working hours. For the first extension period from 28 September 2020 to 3 January 2021, the tier 1 rate will be $ 1,200 per fortnight, and the tier 2 rate will be $750 per fortnight. Both rates are before tax.
For the second extension period from 4 January 2021 to 28 March 2021, the tier 1 rate will be $ 1,000 per fortnight, and the tier 2 rate will be $650 per fortnight. Both rates are before tax. SME Guarantee Scheme
Under this scheme, the federal government is guaranteeing 50% of new loans issued by eligible lenders to SMEs. The scheme has enhanced lenders willingness and ability to provide credit to support small business navigate through the pandemic. The initial phase is available until 30 September 2020 and the second phase will begin on 1 October 2020 and will be available until 30 June 2021. Eligible lenders are currently issuing guaranteed loans up to $ 250,000 to be repaid over three years with the initial 6 months of a repayment holiday. From 1 October 2020, eligible lenders will be able to offer loans up to $ 1 million to be repaid over 5 years with a 6-month repayment holiday. These loans will be subject to lenders credit assessment process.
Victorian Business Support Fund Round Three
A one-off cash grant is available to eligible businesses with an annual payroll of up to $ 10 million. General
Eligibility criteria is:
- Operate a business in Victoria
- Participate in the Jobkeeper Payment Scheme
- Employ staff and be registered with WorkSafe
- Annual Payroll for 2020 financial year below $ 10 million
- Registered for GST
- Hold an ABN
- Registered with the responsible federal or state regulator
Depending on the annual payroll size, an eligible business will receive a third-round cash grant of $ 10,000, $ 15,000 or $ 20,000. Applications are now open and will close on 23 November 2020.
Victorian Sole Trader Support Fund
Sole traders in eligible sectors such as retail, accommodation, food services, media, hairdressing, gyms, events, education and training etc. who operate from commercial premises may be eligible for a cash grant of $ 3,000. Applications are now open until the funds are exhausted.
Victorian Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund
Grants of up to $30,000 for licensed pubs, clubs, hotels, bars, restaurants and reception centres, based on their venue capacity and location.
Victorian Grants to Alpine Businesses
Grants of up to $ 20,000 to help businesses pay a service charge to Alpine Resort Management Boards.
Victorian Grants for Business Chambers and Trader Groups
Grants of $ 10,000, $ 20,000 or $ 50,000 are available to Victorian business chamber and trader groups for initiatives that enable local business collaboration, help members access support and transition into recovery.
Melbourne City Recovery Fund
Grants for small and medium businesses in Melbourne CBD to pay for equipment, convert spaces like rooftops and courtyards into hospitality zones and remodel internal layouts.
Victorian Outdoor Eating & Entertainment Package
Eligible businesses can apply for a grant of $ 5,000 to pay for outdoor equipment, training, marketing and other costs.
Victorian Vouchers for Digital Presence
A voucher program to assist sole traders and small business in building their digital capability.
Victorian Export Recovery Package
Assistance for Victorian exporters to get their products to market by addressing logistics and supply chain issues.
